Editorial Reviews:

The new MacBook Pro 15-inch models set all-new benchmarks for Mac notebooks. The 15-inch MacBook Pro feature Intel Core i5 processors, which boost performance up to 50 percent(1) and reach Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.33GHz. Next-generation NVIDIA graphics bring high performance to everything from 3D games to photos and videos. And the built-in battery lasts up to 10 hours (8 to 9 hours on the 15-inch models).(2) (1) Up to 50 percent faster compared with previous-generation MacBook Pro. (2) Testing conducted by Apple in March 2010 using preproduction 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo–based 13-inch MacBook Pro, 2.66GHz Intel Core i7–based 15-inch MacBook Pro, and 2.53GHz Intel Core i5–based 17-inch MacBook Pro. Battery life depends on configuration and use. See www.apple.com/batteries for more information. The wireless productivity test measures battery life by wirelessly browsing various websites and editing text in a word processing document with display brightness set to 50%.

Perfect Sep 01, 2010

This mac is just what I need for going into my Graphic Design program. It is absolutely gorgeous and works like magic. It is a pristine piece of equipment that seems solid enough to last me through the rest of my college career. If you are wondering if it is worth it for the price all I can say is just get it. It is priceless for this generation. You will love it.

Awesome Aug 31, 2010

Purchased the 15" macbook pro to replace an iMac that severla years old (still runs awesome, but I wanted a new toy). The Mac's are pricey which would be the only complaint. I purchased it on a 12 month financing deal so that helped ease that pain.

The machine itself is awesome. I used migration assistant to migrate my files and settings and it worked flawlessly, painlessly and easily. The 15" version is the perfect size for me. I tried a 13" last year and it was too tiny; the 17" too big. The performance for the week or so I have had it is wonderful. It shuts down so quickly - no waiting. So efficient.

I was amazed at how light the machine is. My husband has a 15" windows based laptop and I expected it to be the same weight, but the macbook weighs about half his laptop.

Best laptop I have ever owned Aug 11, 2010

Purchased the 15.4" for myself and the 13.3" for my wife who is starting graduate school in the fall. Bought her the IMac three years ago for Christmas and fell in love with OS X immediately. Everything just "works" so much better on a MAC in my opinion. I am a cybersecurity professional and work in the Windows environment all day on the job so OS X is a refreshing change.

Pros: - FAST!
- Excellent battery life, lots of RAM, large hard drive
- Crystal clear screen (glare occasionally a problem)
- Excellent keyboard

Cons: - Expensive!
- Hurts my wrists to type when resting flat (simply propping it at an angle solves this for me)
- Runs hot to be on my lap for extended periods
- Screen easily smudged when opening / closing
- No way to only use integrated graphics card to save even more battery

Very Happy Aug 01, 2010

Love this laptop, cant wait to try the ipad. Only thing I'm having trouble with is the mouse pad part, and having to have to click things a few times to get where i want to go. Didnt have that trouble with the other types of systems, so maybe its me, maybe its not.

ANTI-GLARE SCREEN STOPPED MIGRAINES! Jul 28, 2010

I bought my girlfriend the MacBook Pro 15.4" laptop with the anti-glare screen. She has found that she no longer gets migraines like she used to get when using a glossy screen. She also found that she could type much faster on the MacBook vs a pc laptop. And, that there is 9X less clicking needed to do something.
